Abronhill to Palacerigg Country Park - Walking and Cycling Study Map

North Lanarkshire Council are continuing delivery of the masterplan for Palacerigg Country Park over the next 5 years.

As part of this programme of works, we are looking at the current and potential upgrade when accessing teh park form the Abronhill area by foot and or by bike. Recent on-site visitor feedback indicates that the sustainable connections to the country park are not ‘friendly’ for any other means of travel other than visiting by car.  

We are taking forward a feasibility study that will identify any opportunities to improve the connections and its important we gain the views, ideas and opinions from the Abronhill community and surrounding area.

Access to good quality greenspace has been shown to, not only, positively impact the mental and physical wellbeing of our communities but can also have a positive impact in combatting health inequalities. It is important that the community can access teh park so your input is vital to this study.
